atmATM is a film that I watched on Netflix tonight from 2012. It is about three co-workers who are travelling home late one night after a work party and decide to stop at an ATM to take out cash in order to buy pizza. When they go to leave the ATM machine building, which happens to be in the middle of a parking lot with nothing around, they see a man standing in the parking lot between them and their car, staring at them. Afraid and unsure of what to do, they stay in the building hoping that this man will leave. As the man starts to terrorize them, they end up trapped in the small building, fighting for their lives. The film stars Alice Eve, Brian Geraghty and Josh Peck.

ATM is rated a low 4.6 on IMDB and is listed as a horror and thriller. What this film has going for it is a secluded space, darkness, a creepy bad guy and lots of suspense, which is always appreciated. The pacing of the film is alright, some of the characters actions are logical, although not all (haha), and the I think the actors are fairly good. However, the ending is rather dull and many things are not explained (I would say what but I don’t want to give away tons of spoilers). Overall the film is okay, and I can’t think of much more I can say about it. ATM is suspenseful, has a bit of gore and fairly good characters, but little explanation and a dull ending. I’ll give it a 6 out of 10. It’s just okay.

The Hole

Sorry everyone, I know I have disappeared lately but unfortunately my priorities have been elsewhere!

I watched a movie called The Hole on Netflix the other day, which was released in 2009. It’s about two boys who move into a new house with their mother that discover a mysterious hole in their basement that seems to have no bottom. At first they are intrigued, dropping things into the hole to try to figure out how deep it goes. Eventually they become bored and forget about the hole, and suddenly weird things start happening to them. The movie sounds rather interesting, but the ending is really stupid and ruined the movie for me, so I would not suggest watching it! If I had to rate it, I think I could give it a 5/10. It’s not too bad throughout, although a bit dumb at times, but the ending is dumb and boring. Not a Netflix movie I would recommend to my fellow horror lovers!

Prowl is a movie I just watched on Netflix. It is a horror movie about a girl trying to get to Chicago with her friends, when their car breaks down and they end up hitching a ride with a man in a cargo truck. What they don’t realize is that the truck is carrying blood, and the driver is driving them to what may be their deaths. It was released in 2010.

I guess the word I would use to describe the film overall is decent. The characters are okay, but there is little character development. The film has flashbacks which is a bit confusing, and I was unclear on whether they were flashing to the past or the future. There is a good amount of gore and suspense, which I was thankful for, but the movie has a very strange pace. It is very slow, until all of a sudden something happens for a few seconds, and then it goes back to being slow. The entire film is not like this, but a big part of it is. It was difficult to stay awake at times but I wanted to power through and watch the film until the end. The film stops very abruptly, which is a shame. Overall, I would rate Prowl a 5 out of 10. Better than getting a 1 or 2, meaning it was awful, but not anywhere near a 9 or 10, an excellent film.

Hello fellow horror lovers,

I just bought a few horror films on dvd on Amazon! I found REC ($9.83), Trick r Treat ($7.49), the remake of Carrie (only $5) and Dark Skies ($9.97). I have only seen Dark Skies, which was very good, but I had been looking to see REC and Trick r Treat for a while and I just came across Carrie so I figured I’d buy them! Amazon is pretty good with shipping very fast, so I don’t imagine I’ll have to wait too long for the movies. Has anyone else bought any horror dvds lately?

I also just tried watching a film on Netflix called Extinction, but I only watched the first 10 minutes before turning it off due to boredom. So now I am on the hunt for something else to watch on Netflix!

I watched a film called Donner Pass on Netflix. I had never heard of it before, but thought I would give it a try. It’s about a group of teens who go away to their friends cottage for a weekend getaway in Donner Pass, over 150 years after a gruesome incident where a group of men were eaten alive. After one of the group disappears, the teens discover that someone nearby still has a taste for human flesh.

The film is 86 minutes long and is rather boring unfortunately. I am glad that the film is not any longer than 86 minutes, because I would have turned it off and not watched the rest of it. The film is very predictable, has no suspense, and most of the characters are so frustrating I wish I could punch them in the face- they’re that bad. The movie is just very bland and boring, and I would not recommend it to anyone. Another boring film on Netflix!

I watched this film on Netflix called Abandoned Mine, starring Alexa Vega (from Spy Kids). The movie is about five friends who decide to spend Halloween in an abandoned mine that is supposedly haunted by a family of ghosts. After they become trapped, they must find their way out alive. The film is 95 minutes and came out last year.

I was rather weary of watching this film, because most of the reviews on Netflix were rather negative, and unfortunately I should have listened to them. The film gets off to an okay start, even if rather predictable. As the movie goes along, all I see is mediocre acting, predictable scenes, no suspense and bad filming. To be honest, there’s really nothing about this movie I enjoyed. It’s slow and predictable, and wasn’t worth 95 minutes of my time, so I would not suggest it to anyone. I can’t think of a rating, as it really isn’t worth coming up with one. If you come across Abandoned Mine, just pass it.

I watched a film on Netflix called The Frozen, about a couple who must survive waiting for help to survive after crashing their snowmobile. I had come across the film a few times before, and decided to watch it, but I really should have skipped it. The frozen is a confusing, slow film that really isn’t worth your time. Don’t watch it.
