Today I’m sharing a fun horror fact that I found out about my favourite horror film: John Carpenter’s Halloween! Because of a very small budget, the film’s prop department had to use the cheapest $2 mask that they could find in the costume store: a William Shatner mask from Star Trek. They later spray-painted the face white, teased out the hair, and reshaped the eye holes. Apparently, Shatner said that for years he had no idea his likeness was used for the film. It was only during an interview that someone mentioned his mask was being used and he said he was honoured. Personally, I think it’s really funny that they used a William Shatner mask for Michael Myers!
