Ghost Ship was released in 2002 and stars Desmond Harrington (Wrong Turn, Dexter, The Dark Knight Rises), Gabriel Bryne, Julianna Margulies, Ron Eldard, Isaiah Washington, Karl Urban and Emily Browning. Here is a synopsis: A man comes to a salvage crew saying that he discovered a ship. Once they go to check it out, they discover that it is a long-lost 1962 passenger ship floating lifeless in a remote region of the Bering Sea. They soon notice that the ship is sinking and they decide to repair it. They soon become stranded on the ship after their boat blows up and kills one of their crew. They decide to go ahead and repair the ship as planned, but strange things begin to happen. Will the rest of the crew survive? Or will they stay on the ship for eternity?

Ghost Ship has a good plot and back story and the actors in the film are good. It provides lots of suspense and some surprises for viewers, and isn’t overly scary for those who are not used to being scared by films. Desmond Harrington is quite good in his role, and is very believable. Julianna Margulies is also very good as the main female lead in the film. I’m not sure I have seen her in much, but I enjoyed seeing her in Ghost Ship.

Overall, if you enjoy movies about boats, enjoy a great back story and like suspense I think this would be the film for you. While I would not rate it a 10, I would rate it an 8 out of 10 which is a good rating. Ghost Ship is a pretty good film to check out.

  1. I remember Ghost Ship. It wasn’t a perfect movie, but I recall enjoying it quite a bit. I second your recommendation.
