Carrie is a film based off the short story by Stephen King. It is about a young, timid girl named Carrie who has been abused by her mother and is unpopular at school. She discovers she has telekinesis, and is at first frightened by her new power. Everyday she is taunted by her classmates, making her feel alone, until a popular boy named Tommy asks her to go to the prom with him. At first, she believes that it is just another prank, another way for her classmates to make fun of her, but she agrees to go with him. On the night of the prom, Carrie gets pushed to her limits and decides to show all of those mean classmates what she is really made of. It will be a night that nobody will ever forget.

This 98 minute horror movie was made in 1976 and stars Sissy Spacek as Carrie. Other actors include Piper Laurie, Amy Irving, P.J. Soles and John Travolta. Carrie is one of the most popular horror movies ever, and probably Stephen King’s most popular film.

If you like movies where the kid who was always picked on gets revenge, well then this is the movie for you. Carrie is filled with mean girls, pranks, revenge, telekinesis, fire, death and much more. I would rate it a 9 out of 10. I don’t think they could have made the movie much better, which is why it baffles me as to why they are remaking it at all, let alone in 3D. Movies can be ruined when done in 3D, and I’m afraid that could be the case for Carrie. Even if it is a bad remake though, we still have the original to watch. If you have never watched Carrie before (although I don’t know how you wouldn’t have watched it by now!) please do so now! Carrie is a great movie based off a short story by a great author: Stephen King.

  1. I agree that a remake is completely uncalled for.

Well I’m glad someone agrees with me! I’m just afraid that they are going to change the story too much, and the 3D will most likely not be used well. I don’t think it’s necessary to remake great movies!

This piece of writing is good 🙂
